Toshiba E-Studio 550
A customer had called to explain that someone had dropped a box behind the high capacity input tray on the right hand side of the copier. She found the plug(from the tray to the machine) halfway plugged in and some pins bent. She straightened the pins out(and actually did a really good job) and plugged it back in. The tray didn't show up anymore. She tried turning on and off the copier and unplugging it and plugging it back in. I went to take alook. I am that this machine was not meant to have the tray hot swapped but am not sure what happens when it is. Did it burn out a board on the tray? the machines itself? Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.
Derrick
P.S. yes it is an old analog machine but they like it...maybe they won't be able to use the H.C. input tray any longer but wanted to see if anyone on here had any insight as to what may have happened.

Re: Toshiba E-Studio 550
Try to see if 08/255 is 0.
0 is default for automatic detection of LCF.
When you get some error at LCF side, some machines simply disable LCF and let machine working without it.
Hope this can help.

Re: Toshiba E-Studio 550
The E550 is a digital MFP, not analog...pulling the connector probably smoked the logic bd, or the LCT PWB at worst...but you may want to check the dc power supply...with any luck you may just have a blown fuse..Sounds like customer is responsible for the damage...removing the LCT might be the way to go. Re: Toshiba E-Studio 550
the LCF devided into two cassettes(right and left), remove only the cable of the left and work with only the right unit of the LCF and the machine will work good

Re: Toshiba E-Studio 550
Besides being a really bad suggestion..similar to techs that put a peice of paper with "do not use" in the broken tray and never repair it..LCF and LCT are 2 different things. Emujo
