Question Toshiba ADF Problem

I"ve a got a few DP2570's. E210/310's that all use the same ADF unit. The ADF's on some of them have the same problem: The media feeds onto the glass, copies fine, and then as the media feeds to the return rollers, there's a grinding sound (soundsl like plastic gears) , and ten get's stuck in the return rollers. I disassembled the ADF, replaced feed belts with good working ones, inpsected all rollers/gears, etc. and can not see what's causing the problem. Any suggestions!!!

You might try cleaning and lubing the one-way spring clts in the exit drive. Or just replace them. Disassembly of that unit can be a little tedious. Have had to do this to a number of MR3006 for jamming issues in the exit. Good luck.

Toshiba ADF Problem

Ddbrownlee:

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it!!

A couple of more questions:

Who do you recommend using to get parts on the older machines? Is there a source for used or reconditioned parts?

What lube do you use?

Are there any tension adjustments on that exit section that I'm not seeing. It sure looks pretty cut and dry. Have you come across that same grinding and jamming problem?

Actually that machine and adf are still supported by Toshiba, so you should still be able to get them from the factory. If you aren't a dealer, I prefer GMS Products- 800-221-7219. Talk to Dan, he knows his stuff. There is also Precision Roller, but I have never used them personally (no particular reason, just like to use GMS, don't want too many suppliers.

For lube on o/w springs, I usually use just a smidge of Lubriplate multi purpose. Use very sparingly, too much is as bad as none. White grease works also. DON'T use oil of any type.

I did have one that the belt unit was not staying in place well and it would give a grinding sound once in a while, but not just when reversing or exiting. That has usually been those clutches. Hope that helps.

Hi

Also for the parts for this machine you can try LA TECH in Los Angeles, Ask for Augusto, he´s an expert (he was a toshiba top tech) and can get you the parts you need in a snap.

Something else, stop using Lubriplate, we stopped using it because on the long run gets dry and binds the lubricated parts with undesirable results, try Chemplex instead (silicone based grease).

Regards.
