There was a firmware update to correct this problem, if that doesn\'t work they say to replace the laser. I will try to dig up more info on it tomorrow and post the details. B)Is there a fix for CA1 errors on an Toshiba ES35 copier, I know it\'s the laser but can it be fixed.

CA1 AND CA2 ERROR CODES
If the machine is getting these error codes, make sure the system is at version 11 firmware or later. Then monitor the performance of the copier with 08 code 479 set to 1. This code relaxes the critera used to declare a CA1 error. If the problem continues to occur, you might need to replace the laser.
there is also a kit that you can order to install on the unit. it has a washer grounding strap and a jumper as well. but that has been out for a while I would look to see if it was on there and if so I would go ahead with the new unit.
I have some e-studio 45.s that I am scrapping
None of which have a laser error
Price for laser $150.00 each plus shipping and tax if any.
my email is jp.walsh@nl.rogers.com
Also if ant other parts are required e-mail for pricing
All printer boards and fax boards gone.
actually, the main firmware (for LGC board) suppose to be ver 11 or above. the grounding washer works fine in most of those CA1 cases i hv here...
except if the polygon motor got defective, then a replacement is a must.
the firmware and washer will not work on CA2 error. replacement is a must.
If you track down a CA1 kit make sure you put the ground screw on. It's tiny and easy to overlook.
We have taken the laser unit apart and cleaned the mirror bushings. The code is a problem with the motor not getting up to speed quick enough. I know you're not supposed to, but what have you got to lose but time?
Can someone tell me where to buy the grounding washer kit?
