DP3580 Set Defaults

Anyone know how to set the defaults for this ancient beast? Donating it to a school and it needs to default to TEXT, not PHOTO mode. Crazy thing works great other than we can't figure out the defaults.

08-501 2=text, 1= photo, 0=text/photo memory copy mode
08-503 1=manual density, 0= auto density
08-550 2=text, 1= photo, 0=text/photo extended copy mode

I have service manuals for this beast if you can receive large (6meg +) files.
