2500C wont calibrate in user mode

This machine has less than 80 k on it , it doesnt always do it , but when it outputs the page for calibration the image is shifted to the side , so when it tries to scan it comes up with the message that the sheet is in the wrong place, I was hoping that 05-4721 would clear it ,but it didnt.Also tried another laser assy ,no go. The machine has been a bit of a lemon ,HDD and system board in the last year as well.....Otherwise the machine works fine, I wouldnt care except she knows how to calibrate lol ,anyone seen this??
