Service Mode is 05-280 before emptying developer ( dont know why). And the same after replaceing developer. Go to 0 & 5 mode, sub code 200 for calibration. Turn power off and back on to exit mode. Thats with the toner cartridge out ! Hope this helps. Good luck.

HI,

you have to execute 05-280, because it will force the waste toner in the cleaning to move inside developer unit (this is recyling mode). It necessary because if do not execute 05-280. after you install the developer material, some time waste toner will fly and drop in the paper. it can be fix it by make copy several times, but this waste paper, toner and time. isn't it?

regards

who told you that then? the reason for 05 280 is to clean the recycle auger out, if you don't clean out the auger, the toner ( used ) will drive into the developer while you run auto toner, so you will set the auto toner with a dev that has old used toner mixed in. this can cause problems later down the line with your dev.

Big smile here.Mckinley stand correct but man, what an explanation!Thank you jawir.I always prefer NOT to use this code, hate auto dump since FC15/22 days.Just using this code doesn't guarantied removing all crap of paper fibres, hairs, etc. from recycle unit and path.So i use my vacuum cleaner and strip all above parts to clean them fully.

I run the code then vacuum the crap out of the system. Only way to do the job right and not have a headache in a couple of days.
