    Fuser Cleaning Web Message

I just spent $1200 on getting my EStudio 550 repaired and after a week I get a "Fuser Cleaning Web Notice". Does anyone know how to clean it or replace the part? Thanks ... I don't want to spend any more money on this machine.

My recommendation here is to call your tech. He 'll do it right the first time, and if has only truly been a week he should have known better, and will give you free labor.

That will only reset the counter. If that does not work then maybe he forgot to replace it. this has an end life sensor that when the fuser web is low it trips this sensor and displays this message. So if he replaced the web then either he put it on backwards, the sensor is bad, or the machine jammed and pulled the web out of it. If you paid for it then call and make him check it for free.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

    Replace Web

Replacing the web is one of the simplest things to replace on this machine. First, you will need the web. The part number is 6LA23055000 for the web and depending on how many impressions are on the sponge roller (it touched the hot roller), you may need that as well - PN: 6LA23060000. You can do a google search for the part numbers or go to precisionroller.com and plug in the numbers. When replacing the fuser web, you will be working right above the hot roller (it's the black one) so make sure the machine has been off for hours and you do not damage the roller when removing and installing the web. Once the web is replaced, you will need to reset the counter for that part. Follow the instructions in a prior post.

If you are serious about working on the machine yourself, you will need to get the service manual and handbook. It will explain in detail with diagrams on how to replace the web and every part in the machine. You can get them at service-manual.net for $12.00 bucks and it is an instant download or search the net and you can probably find it for free.

Be warned... The consumables are fairly easy to replace however, you can do a lot of damage to the machine if you are not careful. NEVER force a part in. Keep track of every screw. Take your time and do it right. If you run into a problem, you may need to call your tech back in and he may not be too happy that you were tinkering in the machine.

I personally purchased a 650 off ebay and I taught myself how to work on digital printers. I did screw up some parts and it did cost some money for replacement parts but I have saved a lot of money!
If you decide to do it yourself, good luck.

IdEffect - Thanks for the advice.

    IdEffect-

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on this. I will definitely purchase a service manual.

watch out for the one way bearing that locks up on the orange roller. (sometimes there are two, one at each end)

i've got to lean towards what spock and blackcat are telling ya.. for $1200 worth of repairs, as a tech, i would think that the fuser was at least inspected.. if your bill reflects fuser repair, call your tech back for the inspection and troubleshooting..good luck..

If I remember right, the fuser unit uses a gear with a locking pin so it can not reverse.

Well $1200 is a lot of money but it doesn't go that far in this machine ($300.00 bucks just for the developer then another $300+ for the drum. $100 for the blade and brush. Transfer belt parts figure another $350.00. Then there is labor...). The tech might have just looked at the fuser rollers and thought they look good. You really can't see the web without taking off the top cover and you can't do that unless you remove the IH board.
I'm looking for the Service Information for a Kodak Digimaster 9110 (AKA Heidelberg Digimaster 9110, Danka 9110, NexPress 9110, DigiSource 9110 and IBM InfoPrint 2000). If you are kind enough to share it, sell it or tell me where you would suggest looking for it, please PM me. I am also looking for a parts supplier.
    Thank you!
