    Locked recycle system_estudio-600

The machine gives the CD30 (Recycle toner transport motor abnormality) call for service.
After some closed monitoring to the recycle system it has been noticed that the Recycle toner transport motor is working and it stop working when the pipe is filled with toner because the hopper motor is not rotating & hence the toner is locked inside.
Many times we disassemble the toner recycle system and we remove the locked toner inside, the machine works fine until the recycle pipe is filled then it stops again.
Going to the output test mode the Recycle toner transport motor (03-131/181) is working and the hopper motor (03-123/173) is working also but for real the hopper motor is not working at all.
We’ve replaced the whole Toner recycle system, the process unit, LGC PWA but it was the same.
    Any suggestions.

There is an 08 code 455/456 (I think) that will turn the usage up on the recycle hopper motor and help keep the hopper empty. I max it out on any machine that exhibits this issue. Also check the toner door close actuator because if it breaks then it will not allow the used toner (or new) to turn since it sees the door as open.

    Dear Mr spock,
    thanks for your replay.
i've turn the 08-456 to it's maximum value but it does not work what so ever.
the door is closing fine (i think if it is not closed it gives the message
    "close Toner door cover").
    thanks in advance.

I had a simular problem on an E-Studio 650 but I am not sure if it is the same system but here goes. The problem was the toner auger that fed from the transport belt into the recycle hopper. Take the system apart and the section that comes from the transport belt to the auger has a seat for the auger to sit it. That part gets filled up with toner and jams. It becomes an on and off problem.
    Hope this helps...
I'm looking for the Service Information for a Kodak Digimaster 9110 (AKA Heidelberg Digimaster 9110, Danka 9110, NexPress 9110, DigiSource 9110 and IBM InfoPrint 2000). If you are kind enough to share it, sell it or tell me where you would suggest looking for it, please PM me. I am also looking for a parts supplier.
    Thank you!

I have the same problem with CD3 code (abnormal recycle toner transport motor) on Toshiba E-Studio 550, do i need to replace the toner recycle hopper & recycle toner transport motor? or just clean it up? did you mean that the toner auger is the part of toner recycle unit?

I will try to give a more detailed example. Once you take out the toner bottle and covers, there is a white tube connecting the recycled toner from the transfer belt to the recycle toner hopper. Inside that white tube there is a an auger. The auger at the base where the recycled toner starts from has a little plastic piece that fills up with toner and slows down the motor. What I would do is disassemble the entire system cleaning out everything (you can throw the toner from the recycled hopper back into the toner bottle). Clean off every gear and you will also find a small auger that feeds the developer unit and that area should also be cleaned out.

The next step would be checking the transfer belt auger. The reason for this would be if the motor for the recycle auger was running slowly, the toner auger in the transfer belt would not be able to move the toner quickly enough thus jamming it up.

Other than that, take the belt off the motor and go into the diagnostics mode (I believe it's 03) and make sure the motor is moving. The biggest problem with these motors is the solder joints fracture and the motor does not receive power.

    Have fun...

okie got it, i disassemble the entire system cleaning out everything, the toner auger is filled up with toner, i throw it all away. now it's up n runs again, thanks a lot

would it run better if upgrading new firmware? if yes would i need a computer connect to it for upgrading?

You need a thumb drive with the firmware on it. Turn on while holding 4&9 (with the thumbdrive in the usb slot). Select the sections that need updating then sit and wait about 20 minutes.

    Thumbs up Done!!.

    It is over!
My finding is as the following:
The (hopper motor operation) is directly linked with the new toner supplying, it sound that both motors work together & stop together.
The machine was not able to recognise the need of new toner; thus the toner motor is not rotating and hence the hopper motor is not working too!
so I’ve re-adjust the Auto Toner sensor reading
(START+6+power on>>1>>START) after that the machine works just fine and the hopper motor revolves for the first time since the failure date.
The recycle system now is working greatly
    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Thumbs up

The new toner supply motor and the hopper motor are driven only when the new toner is left in
the toner cartridge and also the front cover (upper) is closed.
Thus hopper motor won't drives if there is no toner in developer unit judge
on ATS, hence you do Great job!
Still not understand why it not gives toner empty instead of service code!
