Toshiba Color Developer Compatibilty Between Series

We are a fairly new toshiba dealer (a little less than a Year) and curious if the color developer for the 4540c series (D-FC25) works in the 4520c (D-FC28) series or vice versa?

We sold a handful of 40series devices before they were replaced by the new LED units. We are considering putting some used 20series devices out and it would be great if anyone could share some tricks or tips, especially about reducing the operational costs of these devices.

As old Mita guys we figured out that their Developer was pretty much the same stuff (with a few exceptions of course), sold at various prices and in different gram bottles. We are hoping the Toshiba's are the same in this respect.

Any Toshiba tips would be very much appreciated.

Re: Toshiba Color Developer Compatibilty Between Series

    Hi there.

I work as a Tech and we still have quite a few of the 40's and 20's out in the field but being replaced by the 3555's and so on. We had a couple of 2050's, 2550's out there but stopped selling them due to some issues the machines are having, mainly with the power supply (Machine throwing up C446/7) and a couple of other issues.

In regards to your question, we have been using D-FC25 Dev C,M,Y,K in our 20 series machines with no issues. If you take a look at the the whole Image unit to refurb, the only differences now between the 40's and 20's is the charge grid and drum. The Charge pin is the same, the blades are the same and you can use the dev in both. This is providing you are purchasing the parts separately as the actual Image unit as a whole is slightly different.

We still do however refurb the black 20 series Image Units with the 20 series K dev kit.

So in short, we haven't had any issue's where we work, but that's not to say others haven't had issues. As long as you run up the dev and calibrate the machine properly after any Image Unit replacement, you can't tell any different in quality using the D-FC25 in a 20 series.
