Problem printing trough network toshiba e-2500

    Hello all

I have a toshiba e-Studio 2500c and i'm having some problems when I send files to print trough the network. Every time I send a file I have to go to the printer and restart it several times before it starts to print. Does anyone knows what is going on?

Does the data light blink and just not print? How is your port set up in printer properties. Is it a Standard TCP/IP port??

Goto the copier and press the job status button then invalid job tab.
If you have department codes on then the job will go here if you enter the wrong code or no code at all.
This will also happen if you use the wrong driver.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

When I send a file nothing happens on the printer no lights blinking no jobs in the job status. The jobs simple don't get to it. Is like it wasn't there.
After I restart it about two or 3 times the lights starts to flash and it prints the job.
And yes it is a Standard TCP/IP port, we use Apple Macs on our Network.

    Thank you

I'm not too familiar with Mac environments. Is there a way to "ping" using a Mac? Are there any PC's that you could use to ping the machine if Mac can't? Also, is the copier set to a static IP address? Can you get to the machines web interface. I would also disable any network protocols that are not being used such as Netware, IPX/SPX. My very first thought is that there are 2 devices using the same IP address and the 2500 is getting knocked off.

Yes, there is a way to ping the printer from Apples.
I'm able to ping, I'm able to access the printer's GUI, the problem only occurs when i try to print trough the network.
I've made a test and configure the printer using bonjour protocol to avoid the queue on the server. When you do that and try to print something it appears the local queue and a message like that

Spooling LPR job, 14% complete, and get stuck on there.

Now the printer just stop to send emails (we use it to send the scans by mail) the supplier will be here to fix this problem. I hope when they fix that the printer start to print again. But they told me they have 100% of sure the problem for the printer issue is on the server.

When the copier isn't printing your jobs, does it say, "Network Initializing" in the upper right hand corner of the screen? That message should go away after a couple of minutes after you turn it on. You could have a corrupt NIC setting or card.
