need help with a Xerox 7535 that goes straight to energy saver

    Hey guys,

It's been a while since I was last on here and I could really use some help. We took in a trade on a Xerox 7535 and the machine will power up, go through about a minute of loading up the software and then right when the initialization starts up, the machine will click, the control panel will go blank and the energy saver button will illuminate green. The only way to get the machine to respond again is to turn the machine off and then back on again.

I tried powering the machine up while keeping the door open and it will go through the whole software load up and then ask for the door to be closed. While the door is still open, we can go through all the screen tabs (copy, fax etc), billing meters, copy options and even into the service diagnostics menu. While we were in the service diagnostics menu, we went in to the input/output mode and tested each motor and solenoid to make sure that there wasn't a motor locked up or locking up. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The second we close the front door, the copier will attempt to go through the initialization and immediately shut down. The control panel will turn off and the energy saver light will illuminate. The faults are the sudden power failure fault codes. Obviously we tested and verified proper voltage at the customers site and this still happens in our shop.

Have any of you seen this problem with this copier? I'm at a loss on this one.

    Thanks.

Try to reload machine firmware same version that is actually on.
When you started the machine with front door open some software routines was bypassed.

    Go to xerox.com
In the search box type 7535.
In the pop up window select downloads & drivers
In the drop down box select built-in controller
Scroll down to the bottom and you'll find firmware
Download and unzip the DLM file
Take a small USB stick and create a folder named "altboot"
Place the unzipped DLM file in the altboot folder
With the copier powered off, insert the USB stick in one of the ports
Power the machine on and after a few minutes it should start the software install process

If after installing the software you still have a problem you may either have a faulty controller board or power supply.
Check the cooling fan on the controller board. The original fans would stop working after a while. The new fans are
improved with ball bearings to keep that from happening. Good luck.

    Everything he said.
Plus take RHS panel off machine and check if the LVPS main fan runs when the machine is switched on. An easy early indicator that the board is knackered.
    Yes, I am a nerd.
Gaming PC - check. Raspberry Pi - Check. Custom ROM on phone - check. Thick glasses - check.

Ok. I confirmed that the software is good to go. I also confirmed that the cooling fans are indeed running on the controller and I also confirmed that both fans on the low voltage power supply board are NOT turning when the machine is on. I noticed that when the copier goes into predrive during warmup, the low voltage power supply clicks and then everything shuts down. There are loss of power/no power faults in the fault history.

Safe for me to say that it is a bad low voltage power supply? What do you guys think?

Ok guys. I got this problem fixed. The Low Voltage Power Supply fan was bad. I replaced the fan with another one and all is well! Thank you for all your help.
