    Xerox 242 Yellow Color Displacement

    Hi,

I got a DC242 in which the yellow color misaligned. It is displaced by around 2mm. The displacement is not feed direction wise but bidirection. Meaning if you are facing the machine, yellow color is displaced 2mm away from you.

Tried replacing the Drum and the ITB. Could be adjustment for ROS or the ROS itself.

    Anybody could spare some solution?

    Thanks

Run the 3 registration processes in Maintenance and Diagnostics.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Initially it was only the yellow that is displaced, when i run the first Registration, the displacement of the yellow became more and now the Cyan as well is displaced. The registration that shows some numbers became all zeros after running that one.

This could be caused by several different things.

The procedure I use it to remove the panel behind tray 5. This will expose the end of the IBT belt where the MOB sensor is located. Run the registration process again and watch for the chevrons that on the IBT belt. Make sure that all of the colors (CMYK) are present, also look for any spots from a bad drum that may cause the MOB sensor to not detect the chevrons properly.

I just had the same issue yesterday with a 252. The laser (Y) unit was dirty on one end and was not allowing the chevrons to be printed on one side. A bad drum or a faulty developer cover could also be the culprit.

    Good Luck
