Xerox DC 242 - Zero bytes job

    Hello,

I'm having this issue with DC 242 (fiery built in), whenever i send job to print, WorkStation shows "0 bytes" job and it doesn't want to start printing , until i send job several times.

Can you please tell me how to resolve this issue, if you need any more informations please tell me.

Sounds like the Fiery needs to be re-imaged.

Power off the machine, open Fiery cover and reseat all cables and memories dimm from it.
Check also if the processor and power source fans are working.
If the errors issues remanins you can try to reload Fiery software = reimaging the Fiery.
Keep the config page because after reloading software you will need to restore Fiery configuration.

Ok thanks, if the error persists, how to make "reload" of Fiery software ?

You need the 3 cd's with version 2 software or a usb stick with version 2 software.
These contain also the instructions for reloading

    Load latest machine firmware (1.210.25)
    Reload fiery system software.
    Load all patches for fiery.

    Call a tech.

Re: Xerox DC 242 - Zero bytes job

Question about this and reinstalling the rip software. I have called the tech, they looked it over and said to reinstall. The machine came from a local shop. They think the disc is somewhere, but are in the process of moving... Long story short its lost. Tech does not have a copy, referred me to EFI. EFI said that they have software, but unfortunately cannot distribute due to licensing issues and referred me back to Xerox tech service. Who is still unable to give sound advice.

Long story short I feel like a dog chasing its tail.

Does anyone have advice on how to procure a LEGAL copy of the DVDs for the Fiery that should have came with the machine?
Machine is a Xerox Docucolor 242 with bustles Fiery System 8e version 2.0.

Or advice on how to procure a legal version of the version 1.XX that updates to 2.0 with patches?

    Thank you for your time,
    HeavyD14
