    Advice please - DC242

From the attached scan of a print you can see vertical lines and poor quality print. Changed the drums and put in a new IBT Cleaner but they persist. I have new 1st BTR rollers to put in - could these be the problem or could it be something else?

    Thanks

    DC242 - approx 650,000 copies. Full toners.

Check how the image looks directly on the belt.
If the image is error free on belt then take a look to the 2nd BTR.

What is the technique to view the image on the belt. I don't want to damage anything but I guess I have to stop it printing at some point.

    Thanks

First thing I would do is to run test patterns in solid colors black, cyan, magenta and yellow at 30-50% fill to see if the problem is in 1,2,3 or all colors.

If the problem is only seen in 1 or 2 colors, this may be caused by toner dusting on the laser unit windows above the drum units.

Thanks - I'll run some test patterns this morning.

Does anyone know how to interrupt the print so I can check the image on the IBT belt??

You open the front door just before the paper reaches the 2nd BTR. You will have to do it a few times to judge the timing. Either that or place a piece of tape in the paper path before the 2nd BTR to cause a jam.
