Xerox WorkCentre 7845 Poor print quality

Ricoh/Kyo/Sharp tech here looking at a Xerox WC7845 with poor print quality. Here's a sample of an internal print engine report.

Customer has been running compatible toner for a while without any problems, now this.

How's the developer replacement on this? any tips on dv replacement and initialization would be great.

    thanks!

Well, looks like the compatibles went bad. The gray would appear to indicate that the K drum charge roller got contaminated, and the black dots would seem to indicate the the current toner is contaminated with things that shouldn't be there.
Unfortunately, I only worked on Xerox equipment for a few years, so I'm not sure what to do next. The 7XXX machines I initially worked on were somewhat troublesome to change developer on, but that machine appears newer than what I've seen so I don't know. Hopefully somebody smarter than me will help you out if you still need it.

Looks like the black drum (R1) is bad, to test you can swap r1 with any other drum and see if the color moves to that one. If so replace the drum. To see if developer has an issue run a sky shot of each color and check for white lines, clean the laser windows with pull tab under drum first.

Try this. Remove the black drum cartridge. Shine a flashlight on the developer mag roller. The surface should be evenly coated with powder. If you see gaps then you've probably got toner rocks and you'll have to replace the developing housing. Also look for spilled toner on the LASER lens. I often use a cleaning rod from a Canon c5030 because the built in cleaning rods sometimes don't do a good job.
