I dont work with the small little units.

In a larger workcentre you would perform an altboot from usb media. Google for instructions.

The symptoms your having could very well be associated with failing firmware drive. Firmware reloads are useless until you fix the drive.

When this happens to a "Staples" level Xerox you may also just be better off tossing it and grabbing another one. Its a 300 dollar unit on sale. Why bother?

understood, sold them a HP unit that will work well for what they do.

Most of what I was trying to do was to see if I can easy fix for my tech ego and use as a loaner if needed...

    thanks

Smart move! Nothings usually an easy fix with a non-booting consumer grade Xerox.

We call them Dixie cups for a reason. Use them. Squish them. Toss them.

Is this the one that uses a small flash drive in place of an HDD? Try replacing that and then reloading software.

Yes and I believe it's a problem with the software on that flash drive do you have access to the software or can direct me where I can download it

I am unable to access the machine via the computer in this condition.

    thanks Steve
