Xerox 7435 black toner chip

Hi Guys , this machine always when you install new black toner the chip reads 100% and it decreases down and when the toner is half way it reads 0%then the machine asks for another new toner when the container still have toner. what can i do to rectify this fault, the rest of the colors are ok .
