    WC 7535 HDD (generic ok?)

I have 5735 that was traded in by a customer and of course we pulled the hard drive, as requested, to leave with them. I'm wanting to power this baby up and I have a bunch of SATA hard drives here on my desk from old copiers.

Anyone know if the HDD needs to be formatted in a certain format, or could I pull one from Best buy down the street and would that work?

    Thanks for any feedback!

You dont need to format the hdd neither create any partition on it.
After you connect the hdd on machine you will need to reload machine software - General Procedure nr 9 from service manual

    thanks!
ok. luckily i printed a config page prior and received the exact version software.

I created a folder Altboot on my usb drive root. Created another file (txt) without the extension FORCED_UPGRADE. Loaded the dlm version software into the the Altboot folder too. Inserted thumb drive into USB slot (had to remove a small access cover on the control panel), and also tried inserting usb thumb drive at the rear usb.

Powered on the machine, and in about 40 seconds to a minute, the green screen goes blank (dark), and the machine turns off, and turns back on again, it repeats this about 3 or 4 times and eventually stays in the power off state. To me looks like the power supply shutting off? super weird.

    Am I missing something?

    Here's what it looks like:
