Xerox 5865 Lines on Duplex through feeder only

I am getting a line on the back side of the page when I duplex. If i scan on the glass its ok, internal prints duplex its ok. I replace the whole top feeder which has the duplex scanner. I get the same thing. Its a thin line on the backside of the paper from edge to edge.

you didn't clean the optics under the glass did you?

ALWAYS CLEAN the machine before exchanging parts... save time/money/aggravation

wonder what your customer thinks about your tech skills?

You've already replaced the whole DADF so this rules out the side 2 scan assembly.

Problem is likely dust on top or the underside of the CVT strip, you need to make sure you clean this part.

After that if you still have the lines then run dC945 in diagnostics to set the correct white reference, use Colotech paper if available as this gives the best results.

After that if you get lines you can mess with the copy default settings, sometimes setting copies lighter or setting background suppression can eliminate fine lines from copies.
