    Xerox PCUI issues

Recently out PC crashed with the PCUI on it and we had to get a new HDD for it. We found a matching size and had some trouble getting the PCUI software. With the purchase of the machine we never got any software on a CD (machine was bought on the Asian market - here in Namibia we were told its a "grey Machine" and subsequently find it very difficult getting parts here locally for it from the Xerox guys as well as help.

So I loaded the PCUI software etc and got all working again - thank goodness - but the Diagnostic only works for 10 days then it needs a license file which we for some reason can not get from the local Xerox guys - what do I do now.

Is there a way around this license or a way to crack it? as I do need access to the diagnostic menu since we do our own servicing etc.

    Regards

The license was on the hard drive. Are there any disks that came with the machine when you bought it? You may have to call Xerox to get a license for it.

Yes I believe it was although our original Diagnostic program was different to the one now. The Previous one was called PCDiag, the one now is Xerox Diagnostic...much nicer.

We got no discs whatsover with it only preloaded software on the Dell and the Fiery on its machine. I did manage to salvage a Ghost file from the hard drive before it was reformatted - not sure where the license file would be on it. Can open the Ghost file and it has the entire drive on it but if i restore the image the machine still won't boot.

Have contacted the Xerox guys here but help regarding this machine (Xerox 1000) is very poor, guess it is because it was not bought through them, I believe it was bought on an auction. or at a reseller in China.

Can you send me a copy of the ghost file? Was this a ghost image you created?

Hi Milo, well I did not create it it was found on the drive - guess the original owners did. It seems like its an image file and it is huge, 6GB! so sending it will present a bit of a challenge

License file for PCUI is in:

    C:\ProgramData\Xerox\Diagnostics\XC1000\License folder.Somewhat as xxxxx.dat file.
    ProgramData folder is hidden.
I think is better to find the original PCUI diagnostic version and after that try to move the license file.
Every machine firmware version have own PCUI diag. software version.
Also you can access the machine using
Updated XC1000 Diagnostics Setup from pws laptop

Originally the machine's PC also did not have a Xerox Diadnostic, only had a PC Diagnostic Tool, which was used to do all the diagnostic work
