the cost ( if the parts worked ) would be cost prohibitive, and all for 10ppm more?

No, it’s the initialisation Kit (SIM card) that comes when you order the machine. They ensure that replacement SIM cards cost thousands so no point.

i don't think he is a tech... and if he is ... not much of one... firmware or changing NV ram values will not change the speed... boards and other items .. ( mtrs ) will be required IF it can be done at all... alot of times there are connectors on the higher speed units that are not used on the slower ones.

Doubt you are a Xerox tech or you’d know 58 series is 100% SIM based. No SIM required for lowest speed though as machine with no SIM will default to that. All new connect key machines are the same and the even newer AltaLink and VersaLink machines are USB key activated for their speed.

Gone are the days of NVM set speed.

you are full of it.... I have been working on Xerox since 1999. Of Course I was CERTIFIED and never did the job half assed. I have been working on printers/copiers for 31 years.. so WHO has the " minimum experience " and take your bla bla bla mouth and shove it ... you are now on my iggy list.
