    Xerox 3635 feeder jam

Every time I scan a document using the feeder in this Xerox 3635, paper jams in the area shown in the attached picture.

Any ideas why and how to solve it?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
It looks as if when the document feeder is in the closed position not completely flush/meshed.

Seems that if the document turn around roller is not completely down against the scanner slit glass area it will over shoot miss the upward return and hit the lip where you see the wrinkle in the paper.

Did the document feeder some how get out of alignment? Maybe someone placed something too thick under the document feeder (like a booklet) and pressed down to hard on the document feeder lid, therefore causing it to twist/bend?

I really don't know how was this machine was previously used.

With about 98% certainty the issue is the right hinge, very cheap part and easy replacement.

From the pic there are 2 indentations on the paper, indicating that there is something in the paper path. Open top cover, force a folded sheet down the paper path of DADF, once thru the top part, open platen and feed that sheet of paper as if it was going over CVT glass and back into dadf. Looks like either a staple or one of the sheets of plastic flaps to ensure it makes the bend correctly back into DADF.

    Hope this helps
