XEROX 5890i hard drive replacement

The copier had a blank screen on boot up. Installed a new hard drive and same thing. When powering up it goes thru the usual boot up but the screen remains white (blank). Stumped.

ummm IF the SD is bad it won't take altboot

just as if the card was not present

yes dear you are right but i am just suggesting him before change SD try from the altboot, one time i was faced same problem in xerox 5890 and i was format HDD and reinstalled altboot.

plugged in a thumb drive with the firmware, did nothing, still have a blank screen

was the thumbdrive clean?
altboot <DIR>?
alboot files inside the DIR?*not reg firmware SPECIAL*

if any of them aren't right you cannot upload via alt boot

**you did have machine off.. Thumb inserted THE Power on right?
