    WorkCentre 6655 reset

    Hello

We usually work on Toshba's but the boss included a WorkCentre 6655 in a deal. I am trying to do a factory reset to clear out the last owners info. I would greatly appreciate any help on this.

    Re: WorkCentre 6655 reset

Initialize network controller NVM from diagnostics usually is enough.

To enter diagnostics hold 0 (zero) for 10 seconds and while still holding it tap the green start button, enter the code 6789 and enter.

Alternatively you can reload the firmware...

Download the required firmware and extract the DLM file, on a FAT32 formatted USB stick create a folder on the root of the drive called altboot, drop the DLM file in there. Also create a notepad file called DISABLE_DATA_BACKUP (Remember to delete the .txt file extension)

Now insert USB stick and power on machine and firmware should reload without saving any settings.

Just FYI, “DISABLE DATA BACKUP” can be risky on this and similar model machines. Although it is recommended for larger ‘full size’ MFPs. According to tech bulletin, this could permanently brick the machine. Roll of the dice...
