    xerox 700 duplex issue

good day all, again wishing everyone best health and happiness. having an issue with my xerox 700 on the duplex, whenever I run a job there is a grinding noise of a gear can't figure out which on, and the paper jams on the duplex tray right before the last set of rollers. any idea which gear or gears this may be? the grinding noise is only when the duplex system is in use and i guess when the paper is trying to pass through duplex tray.

the belt seems fine as it looks the same as my other 700, and movement is the same tension as my other 700., would the duplex belt count for the grinding noise?

    Duplex pulley, duplex belt.

did a strip down, didn't see anything wrong with pulley or belt, xerox-part.jpg attached is the part where it seems the grinding noise come is coming from, it sits between the registration transport assembly and the 2nd btr, in fact you have to take out the two to be able to take this out, it seems to be able to turn from the top that puts more or less tension on the registration transport. what is this part? and could this be the cause of the duplex issue?

That is registration side shift gear.
So you should have grinding noise on simplex print too not only on duplex.

no the noise is only when I duplex, seems as if the noise only is when the paper is to the bottom duplex side almost directly under the registration and that's where it jams all the time, i could wrong on that's the part where the noise is, might be registration, but just where that sounds like. Is there something I should be looking for with duplex belt and/or gear? don't actually know which gear is duplex gear. but as you can imagine, this is a pain in the hip.

Pull the pre-registration unit out and you will see on the left, two shafts connected by a gear to the front, and one with a coupler on the back. The gear on the front is where the slipping occurs.

Check to see is the bushings on all the other shafts are brass or plastic.
