Can't connect to fiery X12 sometimes

    Hi all!

I'm experiencing some problems while trying to print to a fiery X12 and DocuColor 12.

I have a network with a router and about 4 computers, and the Fiery is connected to it in order to make available the printer to all computers.

But sometimes I can't print, for example I try to select the printer and it gives an error saying that the printer is not available and that I should try to reinstall the printer driver (which of course I did without good reslults).

This is very random, sometimes I can print and then some minutes after I can't, and I have to try with another computer.... sometimes it works.... some not.

As I said this is very random... and I think my router is working well... does anyone has a recommendation to find what is the problem?

    Thanks!

Looks like you have a loose wire connection or a faulty port on the router. Try to isolate if its a hardware problem first before looking into the software side of things

thanks! I really have no idea of where to start.
I tried to connect to the fiery just with one computer (peer to peer) and with a new cable in order to know if it's router's fault, but I couldn't get it to work...
(I used a switch because I have dont have a twisted pair cable, but if needed i'll get one.)

is it possible to print that way ?
Is it a good idea to know if the router is messing or not?

    Thanks!

    I still have problems

I still have problems with my fiery X12, don't know how to isolate situations just to find if there is a hardware problem.

Also most of the times when I send a bit heavy print, the fiery freezes, and when I restart it, tries to print the job (many times it prints uncomplete things)

    do you have any recommendation?

It's really frustrating to hace this non affordable system
I would appreciate all your suggestions!

first reinstall system software on fiery, then connect fiery on one computer ant test it.

use standard tcp/ip port with lpr protocol and print as queue name.

are you able to connect to the fiery using command workstation software while your computer shows the printer is not available? For your query on Fiery reprinting unfinished jobs while on restart is beacuse the print is remaining in the queue of your system and after the restart when the connection is re-established with your system and the fiery , the job is submitted.
