10-320 is a heat roll overheat failure. 123-384 is a possible sofware error on ESS PWB. The 2 should not be connected.

Have you been working on it live?

If 123-384 is not cleared by cycling power then it may require a reload of the firmware.

    123-384

    Hi Jack,
I'm Canon technician and I'm helping a friend of mine on that so I don't know much about xerox. I did change the fuser unit but the code 010-320 still remain so I unplug the machine then I got 123-384 I did turn of and on twice but the code still remain and I don't know what to do.

I don't really know what ESS PWB means. I would really appreciated if you can briefly explain so that I can fix the problem. Do you have the service manual or the firmware?

    Thanks for your hlep.

Did you REPLACE or REPAIR the fuser unit? If you replaced it, the new fuser unit may be faulty. If you repaired the unit, you may have damaged one heating element or have loose connection in the fuser. In both cases, these cause error 010-320. So you must first resolve this error code. The other code 123-384 may directly or indirectly relate to the first error code.

    I replaced a new fuser and I still had 010-320 before I got 123-384.
Now it takes about 20 minutes to boot up and as soon as boots up the screen shows 123-384 right away.
Do I need to reset after replacing the fuser unit?

I don't really know what to do know!

If ec123-384 shows after booting, it looks like you have a corrupt NVM. Turn off the machine. When turning the power on, Press and hold POWER SAVER, STOP, & 3 simultaneously until the screen finishes the booting.

If not resolved, your HDD may be corrupt. Turn off the machine. When turning the power on, Press and hold POWER SAVER, STOP, & 4 simultaneously until the screen finishes the booting.

I think this will solve your problem.

    1. Press and hold the 0 key for 5 seconds, then while still holding down the 0 key, press the Start button.
The CE Access Number screen will appear.
      Enter 6789 and press Confirm.
    2. The topmost area of the UI display will be reversed to let the user know that the mode has changed to the CE mode .
    3. then selcet NVM Read Write and enter appropriate chain (1st 3 digits of NVM) and function (last 3 digits of NVM) code .

    note :
error code nvm code reset to
    010-320 744-156 0
    010-324 744-352 0

    Just do it!

    Thanks TeachMate.
I got ride off 123-384 today by following your instruction Press and hold POWER SAVER, STOP, and 4. And I also set to "0" 010-324 744-352 0 But it didn't work and the code 010-324 still remaining But When I wanted to try second time it asked me "System Administration password" and I don't know the password. Is there anyway to clear or reset the password?
    Thanks for all your help.
