Question Docucolor 12 fuser web reset problem

The fuser web was displayed as change soon, but I wanted to change it anyway as it was very close to finish. Normally, it resets once a new web unit is inserted, but it didn't. I changed the NVM 777-077 from 1 to 0 via the UI to indicate a full web, and it took the setting, but on exit it still showed the status as change soon. On checking 777-077 it was once again back to 1.

Other than this, all operations are normal.

    Any ideas please?

    The whole CRU.

I didn't know anyone would go to the bother of changing just the cleaning web material. The time or effort rebuilding the cleaning web unit would not be economical. However, I suppose if you were remanufacturing loads of them, then that would be another story.

as far as i know this is all you have to do . Could the new web CRU be faulty?

Can you turn back the web in the old cru and run a few prints and check. Believe me I have seen lots of Brand new xerox stuff having manufacturing issues.

Very true, it could just be the module, but I was just expecting something more complex because the pcb monitoring system on the cleaning web is supposed to be very simple compared to say the drum.

Smile The Xerox Docucolor 12 Web Reset Problem

Xerox Docucolor 12 cleaning cartridge Reset Problem.
Sometimes you get messages like Cleaning cartridge is not seated correctly, replace oil etc...even when you know for sure that these components are all ok.

You might even have paper jams in all trays except the bypass tray while this is happening.

They are all part of or related to the draw that you pull out to access the fuser , 2nd BTR , oil cartridge and so on

#1 Spray some WD40 or Deoxit (contact cleaner) into the draw connector at the back of the draw.

#2 Close , Open , close the draw several times to make sure the contacts are scuffed up enough to clean them and provide good contact.

This fixes other things like interlock switch problems too.
It has worked for me so many times in the past 8 years it's not funny.
If it's weird then try this.

For some reason I got a negative Rep Power for this post.

I'm new here and don't know who gives these.
Contact me If it was you. I'm reasonable and am interested in giving value here. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this and work out how to avoid this in the future.
    I'm interested as to why.
