    XEROXDCCS50 no magenta

    Hello,

    This DCCS50 gives error about 40% of the time on start-up "9-342 System fault." It also seems that all colors print except magenta. I replaced magenta but same result. Copies look good except no red color. I entered NVM and ran some component tests getting the following errors: 9-612; 3-512; 6-620 from different tests. I am on a small budget trying to keep company afloat.

    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,

    if you have the service manual of this machine, open the front door, remove the magenta cartridge. You will see an auger and set of gears, go to component control and give the code to rotate the gears. most probably they could be stuck. i used to face this problem a lot.

    Can this been done via NVM or do I need laptop w/ PWS (I do not have PWS)?

    OK, ran NVM 009-033, and the gears are not turning. Is it possible to get them unstuck?

    yeah you have to ge them turning again , or call a tech

    i havent touched DC12 in couple of years so i am unable to guide you through. could be problem with motor or just gears stuck,remove the motor and try without any gears on to confirm if motor is working

    did you checked magenta developer?

    009-033 should be checked in component control not in NVM read/write

    Thank you xcopytech. I ran 009-033 and 009-013 from component control. The magenta toner cartridge coupling rotates but the dispense and conveyor gears do not. I vacuumed the housing and removed the housing to check the gears. The gears are good. I removed and checked the Mag developer - looks good. The system has not been used for a while, so I was hoping something "stuck" with the dispense and conveyor gears?
