Phaser 6180 displays "Remove Tape"

Hello everyone

We have a client with a Phase 6180 that is displaying "Remove Tape" then it states the color of the cartridge. The client then needs to remove and reinstall the cartridges to clear the notice. We have looked at the toner cartridges and they are new and Xerox brand with the toner sealing tapes removed. We would be grateful for any advice and thank you in advance.

Usually by this ruling is to change the bias plate assembly.

Maybe then you'll have to change all the toner

If you get that message for just 1 of the cartridges, it usually means that the cartridge displaying that message is broken / defective. I've seen that in the past and re-replacing the cartridge corrected the problem for me.

Wow that was 3 years ago that I posted the question.

I must be honest and say I don't remember how the service call was resolved.

Its possible we may have just sold them a Ricoh machine just based on the lower cost per print analysis.
