    Jams in my DC2060 (10-105)

    I'm getting a lot of jams in or near the fuser with a 10-105 code and when that happens the paper isn't always in the fuser, sometimes it stops just before or just inside the fuser.

    It never happens on the first print and when the machine is cold it jams less frequently, for instance it may do 50 300 gsm SRA3's when cold and only 6 when it's run for a while before i get a 10-105, I can do substantially more A4 bond 80 gsm but it will still jam at 100 or so prints. A workaround is to send the jobs in smaller quantities, i.e. if I have to do 100 prints I send it 20 times with 5 copies each time, it's a royal pain but it works and it's better than waiting 4 minutes for the machine to warm up every time I've cleared the fuser.

    Any suggestions how I can get to the bottom of this will be highly appreciated.

    Check bulettins. Many causes.

    Many causes indeed and many possible solutions to try out. As I don't see my exact symptoms there I was rather hoping someone might recognise my problem and point me towards something more specific I can try out.

    Did you do a NVM reset? IF not first do a backup of all NVM's and then do init all.restore critical nsm's.good luck

    I did but that didn't sort it. I've now changed the fuser motor and am still observing whether this has fully sorted the problem, I'll update when I'm sure.

    DO NOT RESET NVM
    check the detack on the 2nd btr unit and clean the edges look for tonor buildup
    as that can help stall the paper causing 10-105

    The Fuser Exit Sensor did not actuate within the specified time after the V-Tra Sensor 4 deactuated.
    Initial Action
    Refer to BSD 10.8 for the following procedure.
    Check for the following:
    Clean the Fuser Exit Sensor ( PL 8.6)
    The Fuser Belt is not torn or contaminated with Fuser Oil ( REP 10.4)
    Obstructions in the Vacuum Transport paper path or damage on lead edge of sheets
    The motor, belts and gears of the V-Tra 1 and 2 for damage, binding or contamination ( PL 7.1) and ( PL 7.2)
    Damage to the Vacuum Transport Sensor/s ( PL 7.2)
    Check the connections to the Detack Corotron ( PL 3.10) and clean as required, if contaminated.
    NOTE:
    Access to components within the Fuser Assembly may be achieved by Removal of the Fuser Assembly ( REP 10.1) and/or Camming Open the Fuser ( REP 10.2).
    Procedure
    Enter DC330 010-106 FUSER EXIT SENSOR. Press Start.
    The display indicates H.
    Yes No Unanswered
    Go to Flag 2 and Flag 3 on BSD 10.8 and check the harness and connectors for a short circuit to ground. If OK, replace the Fuser Exit Sensor ( REP 10.40). If the problem continues, replace the IOT PWB ( PL 13.3).
    Block the Fuser Exit Sensor.
    The display changes from H to L.

    +5 VDC is measured between P/ J681-A13 on the Main Driver PWB and GND.

    +5 VDC is measured between P/ J669-A7 on the Main Driver PWB and GND.

    Replace IOT PWB ( PL 13.3).
    Go to Flag 3 on BSD 10.8 and check the harness and connectors for an open circuit.
    Replace Main Driver PWB ( PL 13.3).
    +5 VDC is measured between P/ J681-A9 on the Main Driver PWB and GND.

    Go to Wirenet +5 VDC (LVPS 4) (1 of 4) Figure 23.
    +5 VDC is measured between P/ J47-B5 on the on the Distribution 1/2 PWB and GND.
    Yes No Unanswered
    Switch off the power and check Fuse (F11) on the Distribution 1/2 PWB. If OK, go to +5 VDC (LVPS 4) RAP.
    Perform the following:
    Check the harness and connectors between P/ J47-B5 of the Distribution 1/2 PWB and P/ J683-13 of Main Driver PWB for an open circuit.
    Go to Wirenet +5 RTN (LVPS 4) (1 of 3) Figure 53. Check the harness and connectors between P/ J47-A5 of the Distribution 1/2 PWB and P/ J683-22 of Main Driver PWB for an open circuit.
    If the above checks are OK, replace the Main Driver PWB ( PL 13.3)
    Perform the following:
    Go to Flag 1 and Flag 2 on BSD 10.8 and check the harness and connectors for an open circuit.
    Clean/replace the Fuser Exit Sensor ( REP 10.40).
    If the problem continues, replace the IOT PWB ( PL 13.3).
    Enter DC330 010-001 FUSER DRIVE MOTOR. Press Start and Stop several times.
    The Fuser Drive Motor turns On and Off.

    Go to Fuser Drive Motor Fail RAP.
    Check/replace the following components until the problem is resolved. Replace any component that is worn, broken, bent, deformed, torn, binding or slipping:
    The gears and shafts on the Fuser Exit Drive Assembly.
    Go to 8-170 V-Tra Sensor 1 On Jam RAP.
    If the Fuser Belt shows signs of heat spots, go to the Fuser Belt Idle Motor RAP and check the Fuser Belt Idle Motor for proper operation.
    Go to OF2 Intermittent Fault RAP
    Clean the Fuser Exit Sensor ( PL 8.6). If the problem continues, replace the Fuser Exit Sensor ( REP 10.40).

    I have exactly the same problem, it just happen from time to time with different kind of papers and sizes more frequently during the second side printing. I think it is connected with the failure (different causes) the paper to enter the fuser nip - wrong nip setting, or paper slip in the vacuum transport, or maybe bad paper lead edge angle. I sometimes happens with some specific impression only and it is enough to print it rotated to 180.

    Thanks Duanew, I've changed the fuser motor and that does seem to have sorted most of the jams. I'll look at the 2nd BTR detack, toner build up is a nasty thing, just been having jams in the fuser with one type of paper (130 gsm art matte) getting caught in a fuser belt stripper finger, only to find muck underneath it causing it to rise up and catch the paper.

    Run the paper at a lower GSM value on the paper tray
    and see what happens
    some papers run a little better and have better prints
    when ran at a lower gsm value
    but you got to stay on top of the fuser HFSI
    and check and clean the external heat roller and pick off roll
    are pow your gonna get a web wrap
