wc pro 35 super dark copies, print is fine

We swapped the entire scanner assembly and we still get super dark copies, but report test prints are fine. Once in a while we get a clean copy.

Any ideas?

Have you replaced the logic that controls the CCD of the scanner? I would try that. I had a Xerox that did the exact same thing and it ended up being the logic board.

Well if prints are fine this is good , so concentrate on optics/scanner verify optics cavity if its clean and wipe carefully the document glass . Also check for the lamp illumination and white reference patch.
