    Docucolour 242 drum damage

Hello, please why does the machine keeps creating dots on the drums, especially cyan. Replace with a new drum and the dots are back withing a day or 2. Dev module and dev material have been replaced. Could this be an arcing problem from one HVPS?

Can you post a photo of this? (of the drum and of the copy quality problem that results)
Are the "dots" that are on the drums visible when you remove the drum unit? Is it actually damage to the drum surface or can they be cleaned off?

Have you checked the BTR assembly to make sure you don't have damaged / worn BTR belt or 1st BTR rollers?
(Each drum unit has its own 1st BTR roller located under the BTR belt)

Dots are actually visible on the drum.....sorry i don't have the image here now. Its from the drum not the BTR. Once the drum is replaced, its ok until after a few prints when the dots begin to appear on the new drum again. Looks like a result of some form of high voltage electrical arcing.

What are the dots look like? what about the surface of the drum ?
I used to have the problem with dots, look at this Xerox DC 250 white dots
    Is it similar?

What i have are not white patches, but small dots the size of a grain of coarse sand. It can only be caused by a physical abrasion of the drum surface or an electrical strike from tiny high voltage sparks which i think is the more likely cause in this case.

Inspect the charge roll from the affected drum module. Also take a look at the waste toner and developer augers and clean that part very well.
The charge voltage it's not so high on the colour drums.
