Not that I know of. Maybe they installed an old used drum thinking it was new.
In the supply screen, the new drum reads 100% ?
when you install the old drum what does it read?
what exactly is the message being displayed?
maybe its not asking for a new drum because it is old but due to an error/fault
check fault history / current messages
also check the condition of the crum connector for breakage or paper stuck in it
check that the new drum is not defective
