Question Xerox 242 & 7775 fault 042-326 tried all the normal stuff

    Hi All,

Have just replaced an IBT belt on my WC 7775, got about 5000 pages out of it and now the 342-326 code is back. Have tried cleaning the sensor and the silver patch, moving the transfer assembly to my 242 and trying it there and nothing works. Can't get the belt edge learn to run either. If anyone has any suggestions I would be really grateful to hear them.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ken

ETA: I've found this suggestion in the forums, but not sure how to go about it: Enter dC330 [042-200 Transfer Belt Home Sensor]. Rotate the belt manually for 1 turn.

sounds like the IBT home position sensor might be bad. You can turn on the IBT motor and the home position sensor in diagnostics and you should see the sensor switch from H to L every time the patch passes the sensor. If it does not change your sensor is bad.

Thanks Flash. Any chance you could break down that process for me a bit? Not sure how to do that...

I would have to be standing in front of one to walk you through it but if you go into DC330 and turn on 042-200 (sensor) and 042-012 (IBT motor) you should be able to watch the sensor switching from H to L.

    Thanks a lot!

Don't have a PWS so I guess I can't check it out but will just replace the sensor and hoe for the best.

Make sure NVM location 741-105 is at 0. The code will not clear if it is set to a 3.

don't need pws go to service mode look for io check a submenu for component control (dc330) enter the 2 codes 042-200 (sensor) and 042-012 (IBT motor) and you can check it out.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

1 additional thing to check, your new belt may have a plastic sheet covering the reflective patch. The sensor may have a hard time seeing through this. Peel it off and try again.

This is a teflon film covering the reflective patch. It protects the patch from scratching so dont remove it.
If the sensor dont view the new silver patch with teflon film on it that means the sensor is dirt or it is in not good condition. Replace te sensor.

Thanks for all the replies. Have a new home sensor coming tomorrow (hopefully) so will replace it and hope it works!
