DC250 toner supply motor running continuos

    Hi,

on my Xerox DC 250 the toner supply motor on magenta is running all the time from starting the machine.
I first heard it, so I pulled out the toner cartridge - I can see the gear behind the cartridge rotating continuous.
    I tried:
    - a new toner cartridge (two different)
    - I cleaned and reseated ribbon cables between iot pwb and mcu pwb (both ends)
    - I switched the toner low sensor between magenta and yellow
    - I visually checked the magenta dispenser unit, the auger and gears are OK.

    What else can I do???
    I appreciate any help...

Open the drum drawer and pull back the plastic cover on the toner inlets. Is the toner packed into the developer?

I pulled back the covers on all colours - they all look same.

    They should appear slightly empty.

Maybe it's not the toner motor that's running. Take off that same plastic cover to expose the developer gears and cheat the front door open, to see if the drum or developer motors are running.

Also open up the back and take a look to see which motor is running.

    Good luck

Yes it is the the toner motor. I can see the gear rotating when I remove the toner cartridge. And it is only the magenta motor running.

It continues to run even after the cartridge is removed with the toner door open?

    Yes.
The motor does not stop from machine start until shutdown.
    But the printer can print.
The developer inlets are slightly empty but it overfills the dispenser unit with toner.

Maybe you simply have a shorted wire harness to the magenta toner motor.

Ok. I will try to reconnect all wires going to the motor and check them.
