does this look like a ROS problem?

I recently installed a docucolor 260 and it has cross process deletions in the black only. I have swapped drums, replaced black developer housing, IBT belt and 1st BTL rollers. Have cleaned the glass window of the ROS. Could this be a laser problem? I did a calibration which improved the density of the black.
Your opinions please before I rip into the machine, thanksdeletions in black 2.jpg

Re: does this look like a ROS problem?

As I am the newest of noobs for Xerox I'll be interested in seeing what the actual solution for this is.
If I had seen the vertical voids in the black portion of a test pattern like that one (assuming that is process black from a mix of CYM toner, not standard black from black toner) on the machines I've actually worked on for a while, I'd take that as a color alignment problem and check the sensors that take care of that alignment first, and then do the service mode color alignments. But that's probably not even a little right here. I don't even recognize that test pattern after all.

    Hi,
    Try a j75 or a dc5000 devbox....that'll probably fix it.
The original unit for the dc250 are terrible.

Looks like a drive issue, take it youve changed the black drum first, im thinking more of devdrive assy of black drum drive, with a ros the lines are usually 2mm apart!

Just looking at drive assembly PL 1.1. Could the developer bias and change preclean PL11.2 play a part?

Dev bias yes, but in the 2nd pic you can see about 90mm between the lines, if it is about 90mm then your looking at black drum related!

Re: does this look like a ROS problem?

Ok, so now I have replaced the developer drive assembly and opened the ros and cleaned class and mirrors. While the black is now sharper and less mottled the high frequency bands remain/ They do appear less intense when things warm up which is odd to me. I was wondering if something has been damaged when it was moved (it has been shipped from USA to New Zealand). The manual says to clean the black drum HV contacts - where do I find those? I might replace the K bias HVPS next - anyone have any further thoughts -
