Yellow and magenta horizontal lines
Hi all
I'm working on a WC Pro 32 that is getting yellow and magenta lines across the page that are about a 1/4 inch wide about 3 inches apart. Sometimes the machine will just do a yellow line but most of the times it is both of them side by side.
Thank you in advanced

Re: Yellow and magenta horizontal lines
Go to WCPS diagnostic and print some internal test pages to see if this happen when to print colour only or black and white. Post a sample of defect here.

This machine dont have builtin diagnostics.
The diagnostic software is named WCPS and it run on a PC computer

Re: Yellow and magenta horizontal lines
Replace the yellow and magenta drums or you can switch yellow and magenta with black and cyan and see if your streaks move with it.

Re: Yellow and magenta horizontal lines
I switched out the magenta and yellow drums and the problem stayed the same with the yellow and magenta lines going across the page. On the pdf files the lead edge is on top.

Re: Yellow and magenta horizontal lines
Do you see how the lines do not extend to the very edge of the paper? This indicated the lines are probably being generated by the IIT because none of the unwanted image shows up in the erase boarder. Does the image quality differ when copies are made on the glass vs through the document feeder? How does the image look when made in black & white mode? Can you send print jobs to the machine (to bypass the scanner) to see if you still get the lines? What about internal reports such as a config sheet? Do the lines only show up on print jobs and not copy jobs? If so have you tried different print drivers?
Possible cause: Dirty optics, faulty CCD assembly, faulty image processor, ROS, software, driver.
You'll have to do a bit more digging to narrow it down but due to the fact that the image does not extend into the erase margins, i think we can eliminate the drums, developer units, transfer and fusing.

Re: Yellow and magenta horizontal lines
The lines do go from edge to edge. When I scanned it the edge erase on my scanner. The pdf's are copied from the glass.
