xerox wc 6505n REPLACE TRANSFER UNIT

Press Machine Status button
Tools - Admin settings - Service Tools - Reset transfer Unit.
Sometimes dont work if the firmware is lower than 2.00.06 so the solution is to upgrade the firmware.

The screen wouldnt even come up. all buttons are locked out ( no response).

on screen "REPLACE TRANSFER UNIT"

arrows up and down on power up. parameters--dtb waste--- initialize-- showed like 4268378.. 4 million? and change.. the number i showed wasnt exact but..? wierd.. all other settings show "-1".

We are leaning towards the mcu pwb. the machine is totalled.

Customer is going to buy another machine. Its not worth fixing it. Though I am obsessing about what the problem is. ha..

I just ran into this same problem this week. Upgrading the machine software fixed it. With the original software I was able to get into the service mode and reset the correct counter but it still did not clear the message. After upgrading the software and going back into service mode and resetting the counter again fixed the problem.

Note*

The software is split into 2 different files, 1 for the print engine and 1 for the controller.

Update both but only the engine software fixes this particular problem.

In my case I upgraded the firmware, go again to reset Waste again, but the IBT waste counter still freezed in 4.155 millions ...


If any guys knows how to change this value from NVM settings, please share.

Finally in my case I had to replace the SFP MCU Board and SFP EEPROM Board from a Xerox 6500 (more than cheap 6505 mfp) because the printer never goes into to initial menu always stuck on " replace transfer belt".
After replaced the boards from 6500 printer... the 6505 SFP works well.
You must change booth boards (2) because I changed only the MCU board first and the machine shows "firmware error".
