    Xerox WorkCentre Pro C2128 Error: "Connection Error Encountered "

    Hello !


    After my presentation in the forum here are the details:


    Device : Xerox WorkCentre Pro C2128


    Error: "Connection Error Encountered "




    I have both the battery from the motherboard checked and the battery
    on the expansion card. The on the motherboard indicated 3 volts, 2.7 volts on the card.


    I have connected a monitor. Nothing extraordinary, the system boots up to
    the screen the user login is to see.


    Unfortunately, I do not know if you can connect a keyboard directly to the device or whether
    any other maintenance needs a computer with the Xerox system software.




    Please share Your thoughts with me . It would be a shame to have to give up the device .

    The boot-up must continue after the line with the user login.
    Probably your network controller is crashed. Also the voltage on the yellow battery is at the low limit for keep safe the machine data. You need to reload net controller software with same software version. There are several versions of software for this machine. If you have an old configuration report from machine you can look up for the sw version machine have.

    Thanks to adriansto for answer!

    I foung a NVM Setting Value list from 2006. It shows IOT ROM V 9.0.3. Is this the Version I need?

    I'm sorry for probably hilarius questions, but I need some basic informations:

    How do I connect the Workcentre to the Computer?

    Is it possible to connect a keyboard directly to the machine?


    Where can I get the controller software?

    It can but not sure. In time may be the machine was upgraded or made some changes.
    This machine dont have a diagnostic software builtin. You need the WCPS software to connect a PC to machine and do diagnostic procedure, settings or reload machine firmware. Also this software contain the altboot procedure which is used for reload controller software. For more informations send mail at stoadis@gmail.com

    I have come a little further. I managed to install the Xerox Auditron software for reading the copy counter: The PC has installed the drivers and I was able to connect to the device. And I can see the numbers. When I connected, I got the following error message: program "ConfigAndDialog32": Installation hasnt been completed on this machine. Use configuration tools to complete this process before proceeding. I am happy and go to sleep.

    On the machine is SW version 1.04.052. Can anybody help me with this firmware? So I can reload it and I hope, the problem with the network controller is fixed.


    Please look if you can provide me this version.

    Hello!

    I'll give you a update on my steps to a working device.

    Device shows same error as always...

    But I was able to connect it with my PC.

    1. via AltBoot: I can see the following text:


    Two strange things I see: I can't see the "AltBoot Menu" where I can choose the different options for recover etc. How can I get to this options?
    Second: The device stops at that point and the other process steps aren't executed, as you see below.

    Here are some steps missing! I don't know why?!?!


    2. via USB and WCPS:

    I can connect the device via USB and it's recogniced in WCPS. But I've got a problem with WCPS: There are the menues and options to choose missing.

    There is also the report: Machine is non costumer mode... see picture.


    3. via Network:

    Strange thing, but i can connect the device via network. On the device site no errors are displayed, i only see some printjobs in the job line.

    Have you ever sorted this out? I just got the same WorkCentre Pro C2128 and I have the same communications problem.
