The key to defeating President Trump in the 2020 election is for the Democrats not to put their energies in trying to convince Trump supporters to switch their votes. As this forum amply illustrates those who believe in Trump will never change their mind. At a personal level, Donald Trump has remarkably little in common with the average American who has felt left behind. Yet these same people cling to his message despite all of his faults and un Presidential behaviours.
The path to placing a Democratic President in the White House is the same as what happened in the 2018 mid-term elections. You need to get Democrats and independents not to take the election for granted and get off their couch and go vote in record numbers. Just the fear of Donald Trump winning reelection will persuade many people to make the effort to vote.
Donald Trump clearly did not win the 2016 election with the majority of voters. In 2020, he will likely get an even smaller % of the popular vote.
America will be on guard for foreign gov't election interference this time around.
Donald Trump became President due to the electoral college system. Democrats need to guard against the biased electoral college handing Trump victory again.
While the % of the American population who describe themselves as Trump voters are likely in the minority in the USA, these same people are much more likely to make the effort to vote in much higher numbers than voters who are sympathetic to the Democratic message.Last edited by SalesServiceGuy; 08-21-2019, 03:38 AM.Comment

What is this democratic message you talk about. That they are the party of hate and violence? Or that they are the party that if they lose a election they will do everything possible they can think of to overthrow a election? There are more Trump supporters out there than you think. Most are afraid to admit it to anyone,because if you wear a MAGA hat you will probably get beat up. If you have a Trump sticker on your car by morning your tires will be slashed or your windows will be broke out. If you have a Trump sign in your yard,well who knows what will happen. The democrats are a bunch of hate filled sore losers. The democrats and the fake media have the country on the verge of a race war,they hope the economy falls apart and they hope this all happens before the 2020 election. The people see what losers the democrats are,and there is many democrats out there that are going to vote for trump also,they just cant admit it and they have to play along.Comment

yes SOME are worried if they show their hats/shirts/stickers there will be retribution ..
THEN there are some of us that aren't worried. I wear my MAGA hat everyday and have ordered my #MAGA2020. And YES you are correct there are MANY more supporters.
I have had only ONE time where someone THOUGHT they would remove my hat. It was in Chapel Hill NC. A rather plump short purple haired - pierced SJW came up to me screaming - swinging at me ... I iggy'd her. THAT pissed her off even more. Then she slapped me and reached for my hat... A QUICK throat punch stopped her actions... when she called the PoPo over.. he told her HE was the witness and if SHE wanted to continue with this ... SHE would be the one going 'downtown'. Others in the crowd offered their videos of the attack, showing she was in the wrong... PoPo didn't need them. AND NO I didn't press charges... and I STILL made it to my service call on time.....
Lesson: Just because someone LOOKS old/thin.... don't fuck with us... most have seen/lived thru more than you have, and have the abilities to defend ourselves rather well.Comment
