No mandated signup because that "mandate" or "tax" (as a judge wrongly took the personal liberty of re-wording that way because "penalty" was deemed unfit language) was complete bullshit. My wife and I have always had coverage for our children while remaining uncovered ourselves because the cost of a 4 person family plan is almost half of my monthly income now. When we held the Marketplace coverage for a year, we found that it was essentially F**kin worthless, the deductibles were laughable, and was actually cheaper for us to claim that we didn't have insurance IF we went to the doctor. One example is when my wife had to go get a Scan done for her migraines. With the marketplace coverage being used, we would have spent almost $2200.00 out of pocket. When going to the same place later, and claiming she didn't have insurance, we only paid just over $800.00. Pretty Weird Huh? Every year at tax time our penalty doubled, and at certain times we were barely scraping by, and so on top of being flat broke, we would have to pay in because we didn't have "coverage", even though through that whole year I didn't go to the doctor once. It was complete crap. Filing taxes this year, we had it in our minds that we would be penalized, Again, but our tax man said "Not This Time. Trump's new tax laws have saved you from that penalty." We actually got a little bit of a refund this year which was nice. I'd rather have NO Plan then have an ACA plan.

You really do just pick and choose don't you? When I mentioned the states it was in reference to before the ACA and each individual state had regulations that allowed companies to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions and some had a limit of one year some the insurance companies could put a permanent rider on the policy to limit coverage for pre-existing condition. Oh yes I also did get limited coverage in the quoted insurance after the ACA screwed our company out of the coverage we had that was actually affordable. But that has no effect on a leftist like you that refuses to accept that ACA caused a lot of problems. The records that showed that the Obama administration faked the records in a way by claiming all the former insurance owners that were forced on Medicaid were all "new insurance policy holders. Oh yes and you also conveniently ignored the limited first year coverage I was quoted in my search for a replacement policy after we lost insurance at work and that was under the ACA. Want to know why the coverage was limited? I'll tell you. You see if the kidney disease took an unexpected turn and reached stage five then the insurance became null and void since stage five kidney disease is covered under Medicare with all the restrictions that has. Like part A and B. Part B being the section that has the recipient paying ten percent of the yearly costs of care. Here is one tiny little known fact. Medicare is generally thought to be for seniors over age 65. But when the act was passed stage five kidney disease was factored in and coverage of that particular stage was added no matter the age. I know a few very young people that were patients at the same clinic I was going to that were on Medicare because of the provision that made Dialysis and transplantation of donor kidneys part of the coverage when they reached stage five of the disease. But none of the facts will make an impression on you because you are to blinded by your deep seated belief that Obamacare was the savior of all poor and uninsured people, even if the supposed insurance was now Medicaid a welfare program that was in place before Obamacare.

Sounds real similar to what I went through with the up-front payment for all of my doctor visits and quarterly lab/blood tests. When I did have insurance through work my cost for a doctor visit was 150.00 plus extra charges for any blood draws that they then sent to the lab for me. I found out I could avoid the blood draw charges, forty dollars actually, by going to the lab myself. I was still paying the lab company the about 320 dollars until I lost my insurance and then found out I could pay them up front to the tune of 125.00. There is also a group of clinics that do not have a requirement of an appointment to see one of the doctors. You can walk in and see a doctor when you need one and when I had insurance the cost was over 200 dollars and they filed insurance for you. I started paying them up front without insurance and their price dropped (been a while since I have been there) 115 dollars. One thing I did find out when I looked it up was this company does not accept Medicare. And strangely neither does the state owned and run medical university. But all other hospitals in the area do.

One thing I did find out though about those penalties at tax time. If your insurance was going to be over 8 percent of your income then you did not have to pay the penalty. Which is really weird in a way because I never paid the penalty when my insurance quotes after the ACA were always over 1200 dollars a month for me or more than half of my earnings. But even with the quotes from Healthcare.gov they did not drop and since I earned over the poverty limit I did not qualify for any subsidized insurance either. I went through the nonsense the first year of doing my taxes under Obamacare then just said the heck with it and never got any more quotes except a quick call to an insurance agent for a monthly reminder of the last quote.

And it should have then been ruled unconstitutional. The ACA and the associated "mandate" originated in the Senate.

May have originated in the Senate but most bills are a slight bit different and go to a conference committee to iron out the differences and then that final bill that is the same for both houses to vote on and is what gets sent to the president for signature into law.

Okay I will explain so even someone as clearly limited in intelligent thought processing as you are can understand. The company I worked for had the insurance policy in place before Obamacare and I was insured. It had a yearly deductible of 1000 dollars. After Obamacare went into effect the deductible went to a aca mandated 5000 per year for the group coverage. An actual insurance agent came in and explained that our policy was no longer legal and we had to change to one with all of the required coverage that the ACA forced them to add. Which the insurance company was, also under the ACA, were allowed to charge us for. So our premiums our company paid went from approximately 900 a month to a cost of over 2000 per month per person. So now we were paying for sex change operation coverage, birth control pill coverage, abortion coverage, selective cosmetic surgery coverage, and a whole lot of other dim witted nonsense coverage. Yes one was actually listed as counseling for becoming gay after the age of thirty as an example of the new coverage. Yes and the insurance agent also had a quote for an individual replacement ACA policy on hand for each employee. Mine was for 1,975 dollars per month with all the new coverage requirements and the 5000 deducible. I did ask what other weird coverage I had to pay for and one of the weirdest was the coverage for substance abuse which with my history was not going to happen. It even covered me for and get this, vaginal replacement surgery to replace a cancerous vagina. Yes I was required to pay for surgery for replacement of a body organ I did not have in my body. Oh yes one more thing I did forget earlier. Our earlier policy had a 10,000 cap on what we paid in an 80/20 percent copay arrangement We paid 20 percent of the 10000 they paid 80 percent over the the 1000 deductible. After we paid, or were billed actually, that 10,000 for one year then we were completely covered to the one year limit of the policy of a million dollars.
And yes once Obamacare went into effect all of that went bye-bye. The deductible was now 5000 dollars per year and our share went from the approx 500 to over 900 per month yeap that sure was a real good deal we got because of Obamacare there wasn't it. The company did eventually get another insurance firm to write a group policy for us since with the new company we were part of a trade organization and could use them to pay group rates available to a larger group. All I remember was even with the new insurance company, the agent that talked to each of us before we were asked to sign up for the new policy was that my share of the new group policy was still going to be over 800 dollars a month. And even afterward because of all the new regulation being added to the list of ACA requirements after passage and implementation was every single person in our office complained regularly when they got their new pay stubs with the increased amount their forty percent had become after the prices went up because of Obamacare regulation changes.

Actually there are all sorts of websites that have information about how Obama cut Medicare itself most in the range of 8 percent. Or what the Medicare Advantage plans would be reimbursed which raised rates for those plans paid by the insured. And yes there are also webpages that deny he made any cuts. So pick your site and I can find one that says the opposite with actual budget plans in most cases . On one website they listed a reduction in payments to Medicare in the budget not as a medicare cut but a savings plan.
Most of what I have read about Trump is he is going after the fraud and excessive billing as what he is cutting with no actual cuts to funding of the program.

You know I actually got restarted answering your posts because I read some of your drivel someone else quoted and just had to answer your garbage, But you are going back in the ignore list and I hope to not see any more of your dimwitted drivel again Especially the oversized fonts that for some reason you might actually think make your drivel more palatable instead of as comical as it looks. And BTW when you used "Your" in the post above you used it wrong again the correct term is You're, or short for You are. Once I see the really lame excuse for language use that sort of example is I know I am talking to a someone that does not have the intellectual capacity to actually think in adult terms like you have repeatedly proven in just the last responses you have posted.

As usual you are using a large font. This indicates that you are insecure and afraid of being ignored. The truth is that it actually causes most people to actually ignore you. Tell a lie loud enough no longer works.

He resorts to the large font nonsense when he does not have a leg to stand on. In this instance he finally gave up and started the equivalent of shouting because he never once answered any points I made about the ACA and repeatedly made reference to the lousy insurance policies available before and after the disaster known as Obummercare to a whole lot of people. yeah I know this post will get his usual forty point reply too.

A concise but insightful analysis. When something is not true, loudness does not garner neither the attention the person is seeking nor agreement with the point being made. People just end up fleeing the senseless noise.

Once I see the really lame excuse for language use that sort of example is I know I am talking to a someone that does not have the intellectual capacity to actually think in adult terms like you have repeatedly proven in just the last responses you have posted.

250+ PostsOkay I will explain so even someone as clearly limited in intelligent thought processing as you are can understand.

The problem for the Democrats was that after Ted Kennedy died, they no longer had th e 60 votes needed for cloture. They were forced to go with the original Senate bill because it had already passed the Senate.
