Federal court rules lawsuit led by Columbus against Trump administration over Affordable Care Act can move forward
A federal court ruled on Friday that a lawsuit led by the city of Columbus against the the Trump administration alleging that the White House is unconstitutionally sabotaging the Affordable Care Act, can move forward.
When the lawsuit was filed in 2018, Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said President Donald Trump violated the "take care" clause of the U.S. Constitution -- which requires the president to "take care that the laws be faithfully executed."
Klein said the administration has policies that "eliminate protections guaranteed by the ACA, increase premiums, and drive up the uninsured rate".
