Thank you gneebore; there is a lot of interesting info in your link about what happened in 1980, however, I don't see any reference to an investigation into Snopes at this time.
I will be checking "yournewswire.com" for it's sources which seem to leaning to the right (IMHO).

The discussion of the rapist trial was during the just past election cycle it was posted by Snopes to counter background information being released about Hillary both by her campaign and by her opponents. Again I do remember seeing the rapist trial information during the democratic primaries and before the convention. The picture of the flags was at the last democrat convention. The actual reason for Snopes posting the picture and captioning it as on the second/third days(I have seen both referenced earlier) was their fact check when critics of the democrats was concerning the lack of the flag on their stage during the speeches during the convention.Comment

Not sure what to make of the information.

The info sounds a bit out there, unless the 11years olds I.T. father is the main source of his hacker education.
Our Australian gov't communications minister had his mobile phone hacked on national TV, to prove a point that there is no such thing as communications security. The hackers where sitting in germany reading and tracking every thing in Australia the Comms minister had done over two days. The minister had fore knowledge that the hacking was going to take place. To his stunned amazement he allowed the television station to broadcast the results of his phone hack.
No surprises for hacking Wi-Fi ...

Actually reading the story it seems the child actually did show how wi-fi can be used. Weaponized is a strong term. But if you can hack phone numbers and other information using the tools he did any one can actually be taught how to use the software given the technical skills. And a lot of preteens do have the computer skills a lot of older folks don't. And you may have nailed the actual process since in the story his father was also a computer expert.
Funny statement there at the end. There are people that have gone back to nature to avoid having all the spy device put into toaster, radios, tv's etc in their like. Better start wearing your tinfoil hats because they have also figured out how to use wi-fi for mind control too. really weird and interesting fact about wi-fi and it's inventor. Did you know the basics of wi-fi were patented in the forties? And the person that did the research was none other than Hedy Lamarr.

Oh lets see the article was in the "entertainment section" and actually clicking the link for story the site refers to the Huffington Post website that originally ran the story. And the story is actual quotes from Lowe concerning his show that investigates legends like bigfoot. Both stories actually have the same quote from Rob Lowe. Oh yeah i also did not link to the home page but to the actual linked article. I clicked the links in actual story to confirm the sources listing the leftist tilt of Snopes.com recently.
