So far, 4 more fence sections and a sycamore snapped in half and the top landed 10 feet from the deck. Fall is coming early as about a third of the green leaves on my trees are now on the ground.

On the plus side, I got in a really nice nap in the middle of a paid work day.

I am probably about 100 miles from where it came ashore. Feel pretty lucky so far. Road behind me lost power last night and is still out. Lost internet but AT&T is waving data charges so I can use the phone. Going to have to try to put up my fence today in a downpour, but it could always be worse.

Worried about the constant downpour of rain over the next day or so, hopefully the storm doesn't sit too still. Good Luck!

Just went out and looked around. Most of my fence gone. Several thousand dollars I don't t have. Guess I'll be walking the dogs on leashes for a while. Yard is a disaster. House is OK and all are safe, so I am a lucky one. This is the most damage i have ever had from a storm.

The danger hasn't left, it's just begun. The city on the coast I do service calls at, Jacksonville, is underwater. The Cape Fear river, that runs through my county, is usually 16 feet deep. It is expected to get to 62 feet. Other rivers are also expected to overflow.

From what I have heard on the news, as Florence moves inland it will be dropping massive amounts of rain om the water sheds of the nearby rivers. Flooded rivers could lasts weeks or more.

You were looking for a little DIY project to keep you busy this weekend.......hope it isn't any thing major and do wait until the wind drops before you get up on the roof to investigate

Actually I couldn't wait, got up there in the rain. Found no missing shingles or holes in roof. I am thinking the strong winds may have blown rain under some shingles or in the soffits on the peak of the roof. Then run down rafters and down the brace for the fan. Haven't seen any water spots on the ceiling yet.
