Whaaaat.... $1.57 billion for a 1.7mile concrete wall, really ,seriously?

In proper terms, the 1.7mile wall will cost $1million/mile, the hidden slush funding for those watching over the project will cost $1.56 billion/mile.
I'm nearly sure we have a similar political slush-fund, back-slap-buddy, financial nest feathering problem here in OZ.

Trump should ask to buy the Great Wall from China, before his own trade tariffs come into effect...

The Aussies put up a 3250km Rabbit proof fence quite a few years ago, to keep the NSW Rabbits out of QLD.
It didn't work, 10's of thousands of the buggers put on Blue Jerseys and escape through the fence each year...

U.S. Wall Funding of $1.57 Billion Yields 1.7 Miles of Fence

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has put up just 1.7 miles of fencing with the $1.57 billion that Congress appropriated last year for President Donald Trump’s wall along the Mexican border, a federal judge was told.


A lawyer for the U.S. House of Representatives provided the information Tuesday to the judge in Oakland, California, who is weighing requests from 20 state attorneys general and the the Sierra Club to block Trump from using funds not authorized by Congress to build the wall.


"The administration recently provided updated information to Congress on the status of its efforts as of April 30, 2019," the attorney, Douglas Letter, said in a court filing. "Based on that updated information, it appears that CBP has now constructed 1.7 miles of fencing with its fiscal year 2018 funding."


That was 3/4 of a mile more than the administration reported at the end of February, Letter said.


U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam had asked for the information at a May 17 hearing.


A Customs and Border Protection official said the agency can’t comment on pending litigation.

Drudge Report 2019 show that the amount of fencing was in error! Up to 400 miles of fencing will be repaired and new fencing/wall will be constructed.

The sad part is congress had no problem giving a foreign country plenty of money to build a wall on their borders. Congress says to hell with protecting the USA. They just want enough illegals to enter this country, vote illegally in a federal election for president so that they can impose socialism on us. I hear you loud & clear but 6 more years will still be plenty of time to shape the country to lean conservative. Especially with getting one more Supreme Court Justice pick and maybe more!
They probably have Ginsberg on life support propped up on her bench just trying to keep her alive until 2020 hoping Trump will lose, God bless her soul when Trump wins and they have to pull the plug on her, knowing they can't pull off the charade until 2024!
