Republican Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah on Wednesday announced that he will not seek reelection when his current term ends in early 2025.

"Frankly, it's time for a new generation of leaders," Romney, 76, said in a video posted to X, formerly Twitter.

MAGA is full of the vices of older voters, mistrust and caution.

Democrats are closer to the virtues of younger voters, courage and hope for the future.

And as a young person myself I can say we are stupid and don't deserve a vote. Also that's a dumb argument.

Of course you are speaking only for yourself. I know a lot of young people and most of them are very smart. They look at all the old right wingers filled with hate and fear and say "I don't want to end up like that". I can't really blame them. It's gotta be exhausted hating and being afraid of everything they are told to hate and be afraid of.

It is pretty clear that the great majority of MAGA supporters are older (55% are 55 or older), who have been trained to mistrust gov't or what they call the Swamp. 60% of MAGA voters are white, male and Christian. Overall, the very loyal and vocal MAGA demographic is in decline and now represent only 15% of the US population.

There are many demographic surveys to be found that confirms this such as this one.

It is also pretty clear that younger educated Americans prefer the Democratic party. Many may have concerns regarding President Biden's age. What is clear is that if Donald Trump becomes the Republican nominee for President (perhaps campaigning from a jail cell) democrats and independents will choose President Biden nine times out of ten.

Many Republican leaning or registered voters may not be able to morally vote for a President with a criminal record.

Mitt Romney announces he won’t seek reelection as he calls for ‘new generation of leaders’

Romney heavily criticized his Senate Republican colleagues for their continued loyalty to Trump, saying, “A very large portion of my party really doesn’t believe in the Constitution,”

This is the reason republicans are so desperate to prevent young people from voting.

Makes you wonder how a republican ever won an election. Lucky for us, the voters get to see that democrats make a lot of promises and it rarely ever works out well and they choose a different path. Blacks are abandoning Biden in large numbers. Evidently, they don't like high prices for gas and food, among other things. They're also pissed that Mexicans are taking over their towns and neighborhoods. Moreover, large liberal cities have become crime ridden shit-holes.

You should get out of Canada for a couple of weeks anc vacation in San Francisco, Chicago or D.C. and report back to us on the democrat policies at work.

... some big Republican donors are not going to be able to contribute to Donald Trump's political campaign if he is convicted of any crimes next year due to the fidicuary duties of their organizations.

A fiduciary is a person who holds a legal or ethical relationship of trust with one or more other parties.
