Joe Biden when he was elected in 2020 was only 5 months younger than Donald Trump currently is. During his first term in office Donald Trump had his cognitive ability tested and was found in good mental health. Joe Biden refused to be tested.

Should he not be able to competently finish his term, the very inexperiened JD Vance will take his place.

It would not be the first time an "inexperienced" Vice President had to assume the Office of the Presidency. John Tyler became President when William Henry Harrison died after only 31 days in office. More recently JFK was assassinated 2 years 10 months and 2 days after taking office. Like Vance, LBJ was a Senator prior to being elected Vice President.
