Oh Joy
A proposed 200% tariff on imported medications, part of a broader federal trade policy initiative, is sparking serious concern across the healthcare industry. As other proposed tariffs are set to take effect August 1, this measure is intended to push pharmaceutical manufacturing back to U.S. soil. But experts warn that the immediate effect could be sharp price increases and reduced access to essential, life-saving drugs for millions of Americans.
Nearly 80% of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) used in U.S. medications and 80 to 90% of all generic drugs are imported, with most brought from countries that could be directly impacted by the tariff. Hospitals, pharmacies, and health plans fear the added costs will be passed down to consumers, especially those who rely on generics or maintenance medications. Some pharmacies are already reevaluating supply contracts and warning of potential price hikes or shortages in the coming months.

The U.S. economy shrank faster than previously thought during the first three months of 2025, with growth contracting for the first time in three years.
The country's gross domestic product fell at an annual rate of 0.5% from January through March, the Commerce Department reported Thursday in its third and final GDP report for the period. The agency's initial first-quarter GDP report, issued in April, estimated a 0.3% decline, which was later revised to a 0.2% dip in its second print.

You have me confused with your angry, hateful counterpart who hates Canada.
I have not hidden the fact that trumpty dumpty is an absolute moron and severely cognitively impaired, but that doesn't translate to me hating the US.😎 1Comment

It must drive you nutters crazy when the news of the day doesn't fit your narrative and even CNN has to grudgingly admit it.
