I'm so thankful that Joe Biden will be gone soon that I don't really care. Hunter Biden is a real POS and his dad ran a criminal enterprise to enrich his family.

I just read the pardon. This is worse than I thought. It's a blanket pardon for any crime that was committed in the past decade. The Biden family is above the law.

Even liberals are freaking out over Biden's breathtaking pardon for his son. Joe Biden is the first president in history to issue a pardon for his son.

We haven’t seen a pardon as sweeping as Hunter Biden’s in generations

President Joe Biden’s grant of clemency on Sunday night — an extraordinary political act with extraordinary legal breadth — insulates his son from ever facing federal charges over any crimes he possibly could have committed over the past decade.

xperts on pardons said they could think of only one other person who has received a presidential pardon so sweeping in generations: Nixon, who was given a blanket pardon by Gerald Ford in 1974.

“I have never seen language like this in a pardon document that purports to pardon offenses that have not apparently even been charged, with the exception of the Nixon pardon,” said Margaret Love, who served from 1990 to 1997 as the U.S. pardon attorney, a Justice Department position devoted to assisting the president on clemency issues.

“Even the broadest Trump pardons were specific as to what was being pardoned,” Love added.

Joe Biden’s “full and unconditional pardon” of his son is deliberately vague. Donald Trump and his allies have long fixated on the president’s son, and Trump has repeatedly pledged to use his second term to investigate and prosecute members of the Biden family. Conservative commentators have engaged in parlor-game speculation that Hunter Biden could be charged with bribery, illegal lobbying or other crimes stemming from his foreign business activities and drug addiction.

So rather than merely pardoning his son for the gun crimes for which he was convicted and the tax crimes for which he pleaded guilty, the president’s pardon covers all “offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in” from Jan. 1, 2014, through Dec. 1, 2024. That language mirrors the language in Ford’s pardon of Nixon, which did not merely cover the Watergate scandal but extended to “all offenses against the United States” that Nixon “has committed or may have committed” between Jan. 20, 1969, and Aug. 9, 1974 — the exact span of Nixon’s presidency.

This pardon was for sure gonna happen. Biden has to cover up all his corruption. Running short on time.

I wonder, can it be interpreted to cover any member of the Biden family, including quid-pro himself?

No, but its clear that Joe was involved in Hunter's dealings and a lot of that money was deposited in family member's bank accounts.

This is all a nothing burger that the right wing media pumped up to discredit Joe Biden.

Joe Biden was rightfully concerned that an unleashed Trump Justice Dept would continue to harass Hunter and potentially send him back to his self destructive addictions.

The major network news media in the US are left wing not right. They are the ones questioning Biden's reversing his promise to not pardon his son. They are the ones equating Biden's action to Gerald Ford's blanket pardon of Richard Nixon.

Nothing burger !!! HE PLEAD GUILTY

The president's son entered an open plea — an offer to plead guilty , admitting guilt to all nine charges. His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 16. He faces up to 17 years in prison.

"Do you agree you committed every element of the charges in the indictment?" U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi asked Biden.

"Yes," Biden responded. The judge accepted the plea.

Joe Biden's justice department was the one that charged Hunter. So why pardon him? Nothing to do with Trump.

I understand that you're team liberal. That's the only reaon you feel this way. Just say that.

It is a nothing burger because whether he is innocent or guity it does nothing to advance the interests of any other US citizen. It only advances the self centered and corrupt interests of Trump loyalists.

Kash Patel, Trumps's pick to head the FBI, threatened "to lock Hunter Biden up forever!"

How could President Biden take that chance with his only remaining son's freedom ?

Days before jury selection was scheduled to begin, the judge barred the defense from telling jurors that Hunter Biden eventually paid all his outstanding tax obligations.
